Terms And Conditions For Students

These Terms and Conditions constitute an agreement between the governing authority of BRITISH Royal College (BRITISH RC) and the student whose name and signature is written at the end of this agreement.

GENERAL
  1. The students enrolled in BRITISH RC will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of BRITISH RC's regulations. BRITISH RC will consider taking disciplinary action for any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. When students apply for a particular course or subject, they must conduct research and make enquiries to ensure that they are familiar with the outline of their chosen course or subject. Please note that any subsequent objections raised by the students regarding course structure etc will not be entertained by BRITISH RC..
  3. If a student wishes to change to a different course or subject, they must follow these procedures: _ The student must submit a BRITISH RC application form. _ The student must give good reasons as to why she/he wants to change their course. _ The student must apply for the new course within four weeks from the date of the commencement of the new course. _ The acceptance of the application is a matter of discretion of the BRITISH RC Academic Committee. _ If the application to change course is accepted by the BRITISH RC Academic Committee, the student must pay the registration fees for the new courses or subjects, which are as follows: £ 200 UK and EU students £ 350 Non - EU students Note: When a student changes their course/subject, they also need to pay exam registration fees to the new certificate awarding body..
  4. Students are to supply their own study materials, although BRITISH RC will provide handouts at lectures, library resources and e-resources..
  5. Students must provide original copies of their academic certificates for inspection on arrival at the college as part of the admissions criteria and a copy of these will be held on file by BRITISH RC..
  6. BRITISH RC must be informed as soon as possible if there is a change to the student's UK address, telephone number or any other contact details..
  7. Students are obliged to attend all lectures, classes and work placements in good time. Where there is a legitimate reason for the student being unable to attend, notice must be given to BRITISH RC and/or the work placement office either by telephone or some other practical method of communication..
  8. In the event of extraordinary circumstances, such as political or social unrest and strikes etc, which cause disruption to or cancellation of teaching schedules etc, BRITISH RC will do its best to inform students and resume normal activity as soon as possible..
  9. BRITISH RC reserves the right to cancel any course, session, activity or group at its discretion and, where appropriate, return the fees to applicants..
  10. PAYMENT TERMS AND METHODS
  11. Please note that registration fees payable to BRITISH RC are totally non-refundable. Registration fees are as follows: _ UK and EU students £ 200 _ Non - EU students £ 350
  12. Tuition fees quoted by BRITISH RC exclude fees payable to professional or certificate awarding bodies in respect of exam registration, and examination entry fees.
  13. Students will pay an administration charge of £100 where cheques are not honoured by banks. BRITISH RC reserves the right to report offenders or wrong doers when appropriate.
  14. . UK and EU students must pay the tuition fees in full at the beginning of each semester or module. However, Non - EU students must pay the full fees for the first year of their studies in advance.
  15. In the event of a student getting into financial difficulties, the student may be allowed to pay only part of the tuition fee in advance. The remainder of the fee may be paid in regular instalments. Such an arrangement will be made totally at the discretion of the management staff of BRITISH RC. A fee of £50 will be added to each instalment to cover the additional administrative costs.
  16. If a student fails to make the payment by the due dates, an additional £50 will be charged to cover the additional administrative costs.
  17. Should the student fail to make their necessary payments, their acceptance on the courses may be revoked on the discretion of BRITISH RC, or extra administrative costs charged.
  18. UK students may pay their fees in person at BRITISH RC by cash, cheque or bank draft.
  19. A minimum of 14 days should be allowed for BRITISH RC to process the student's application after receipt of the registration fees. This time may vary for international students.
  20. If a student attempts to enrol or has been accepted onto a course at BRITISH RC by providing forged academic certificates, no refund of the tuition fees will be made.
  21. Non - EU students must enrol on a full-time course in order to obtain a full-time student visa. This involves attending a minimum of fifteen hours of lessons per week each term.
  22. Non - EU students should pay their course fees by bankers draft or bank transfer.
  23. Payment must be made only in the name of 'BRITISH Royal College'. Please note that BRITISH IGS will not accept any responsibility if the student makes the payment to anyone else in error.
  24. Any international student whose visa application for the UK has been refused and who does not wish to re-apply for a course at BRITISH RC will be entitled to a refund of any tuition fees. However, the £350 registration fee will be deducted from the any fees paid to cover administrative costs. A visa refusal letter (APP 200) must be sent to BRITISH RC with a request for a refund. A refund will be made within 28 days of BRITISH RC receiving the visa refusal letter.
  25. International students who obtain a student visa through BRITISH RC and subsequently decide to discontinue their studies will lose all of their tuition fees.
  26. If an international student does not wish to pursue his/her course with BRITISH RC after enrolling, NO refund will be given, except on medical grounds. In such circumstances, the decision of the management of BRITISH IGS will be final. BRITISH RC are obliged to inform the UK Home Office (immigration service) in these cases. CONDUCT
  27. Students are requested to conduct themselves in a respectful and courteous manner towards all staff and their fellow students. Discriminatory remarks towards staff or other students because of race, colour, gender or religion will not be tolerated.
  28. Any student who fails to attend lectures or work placements for up to two weeks without giving prior notice to BRITISH RC may have their agreement terminated and in the case of the international students, will be reported to the Home Office.
  29. Students are required to observe all the rules of Health & Safety in the buildings that they occupy at any time as a student of BRITISH RC, including co-operation with regard to fire regulations and fire drills.
  30. Smoking is prohibited by law in any part of a public building in the United Kingdom. Students are prohibited from bringing onto the premises of BRITISH RC any hazardous or illegal drugs, or any intoxicants such as alcohol or any such items as may cause damage or injury to the health and safety of other members of BRITISH RC. Students are forbidden to be under the influence of such substances during their time at BRITISH RC or on work placements in order to avoid causing distress or discomfort to any staff member, fellow student or member of the public.
  31. Any student who is found to have committed any serious offence or broken the laws of the United Kingdom may, at the discretion of BRITISH RC, be liable for suspension or expulsion from BRITISH RC.
  32. Any abusive language or inappropriate behaviour towards another student or member of staff will result in immediate suspension and may lead to termination of the agreement and expulsion from BRITISH RC.
  33. Students are permitted to use the computers owned by BRITISH RC only as directed by staff. The downloading of illegal, pornographic or inappropriate material is strictly prohibited. A breach of this rule will lead to immediate suspension and ultimate termination of the agreement.
  34. BRITISH RC reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time. Any amendments will be notified to students.
